Thought for today.

“You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near” (James 5:8).

This is a clear instruction of the Bible.

Heavenly Father, give us grace to be patient so that we can face life as You expect from us bringing glory to Your name.

Do we loose our patience sometimes?

Quote for today: “Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.” — John Quincy Adams

Thought for today.

“If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content” (1 Timothy 6:8).

God’s children can be content always.

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving Yourself through Christ as our portion so that we can always be content.

Are we enjoying a fully satisfied life?

Quote for today: “The heart is rich when it is content, and it is always content when its desires are fixed on God.” — Miguel Cordero-Munoz

Thought for today.

“Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you” (James 4:7).

God has given us full freedom to choose for ourselves.

Heavenly Father, thank You that out of Your love You never force anyone to choose You lest we become robots.

Have you made the right decision?

Quote for today: “There is never any peace for those who resist God.”— François Fénelon

Thought for today.

“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20a)

Self must be crucified if Christ must live in us.

Heavenly Father, thank You for teaching to follow Christ in every walk of life dying to self every moment of our life.

If Christ is on the throne, self must be on the cross.

Quote for today: “Without somehow destroying me in the process, how could God reveal himself in a way that would leave no room for doubt?”— John Irving

Thought for today.

“and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:19).

The Bible reveals that God is love.

Heavenly Father, though it is impossible for us to comprehend You fully, thank You for letting us know that You are love because of the cross of Christ.

No one can empty the sea but one drop reveals its nature.

Quote for today: “God gives us just enough to seek him, and never enough to fully find Him.”— Ron Hansen

Thought for today.

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel” (Mark 1:15).

To repent means to turn around.

Heavenly Father, help us to follow the words of Jesus and turn around and be on the right path so that we can have the best of life here and hereafter.

To repent means to stop living for self and start living for God.

Quote for today: “We all want progress, but if you’re on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive.” — C. S. Lewis

Thought for today.

“For the LORD is a great God And a great King above all gods” (Psalm 95:3).

There are millions of gods around us.

Heavenly Father, thank You for proving that You are the only true God by the death and resurrection of Your only Son.

Jesus proved that the Bible is the true word of God.

Quote for today: “A God who let us prove his existence would be an idol.” — Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Thought for today.

“Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand” (Matthew 7:26).

Christ alone is the solid rock on which we can build our lives.

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your only Son who revealed to us the eternal God whom we can trust in this life and in the life to come.

Our life will be wasted if not built on the right foundation.

Quote for today: “Never, never pin your whole faith on any human being: not if he is the best and wisest in the whole world. There are lots of nice things you can do with sand; but do not try building a house on it.” — C. S. Lewis

Thought for today.

“Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18).

The Bible demands this from everyone.

Heavenly Father, give us grace not to take revenge or bear a grudge against anyone fulfilling the Law.

Am I tempted to take revenge or keep grudge?

Quote for today: “The test of love is in how one relates not to saints and scholars but to rascals.”— Abraham Joshua Heschel
