Thought for the day.

“…, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory”Β  Β Β (Colossians 1:27).

This is a big mystery.
πŸ™Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing us the great mystery that Christ can live in our mortal bodies to transform us into His image.

Do others see the character of Christ in us?

Quote for the day: “True religion is a union of God with the soul, a real participation of the divine nature, the very image of God drawn upon the soul, ….” β€” Henry Scougal

Thought for the day.

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal” (Matthew 6:19).

These are the words of our Lord Jesus.
πŸ™Heavenly Father, help us not to be fooled by storing treasures on earth but help us to be rich toward You.

Are we wise enough to be storing for eternity?

Quote for the day: “Wherever riches have increased, the essence of religion has decreased in the same proportion.” β€” John Wesley

Thought for the day.

“And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel” (Mark 1:15)

.Repent means to turn around.
πŸ™Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us grace to believe in the gospel after truly repenting so that we are now able to enjoy the benefits of the gospel.Β

Believing the gospel without repentance has no effect.

Quote for the day: “Repentance demands that we choose a path of holy living.” β€” Calvin Miller

Thought for the day.

“Just as the Son of Man came not to be waited on but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:28).

Β Ransom is the price paid to set someone free.
πŸ™Heavenly Father, thank You for helping us to realize that without a ransom our sin problem would never have been over and that Christ paid it for us.

Salvation is full and free only in Christ.

Quote for the day: “It makes sense that Jesus would be our sacrifice because a sacrifice was needed to justify man’s presence before God.” –Max Lucado

“And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures” (1Corinthians 15:4).

Christ is unique by His resurrection.
πŸ™Heavenly Father, help us to remember always that Christ is a risen savior and that He is coming back to take His children to be with Him for ever

If Christ is risen all humans are answerable to Him.

Quote for the day: “Perhaps the transformation of the disciples of Jesus is the greatest evidence of all for the resurrection.” β€” John R. W. Stott

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8).

Grace is unmerited favor.
πŸ™Heavenly Father, thank You for Your grace through Christ our Lord which saved us from sin and from eternal punishment.

Grace makes boasting a misfit.Β

Quote for the day: “Grace is indeed needed to turn a man into a saint.” β€” Blaise Pascal

“For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake” (Philippians 1:29).

Suffering is an integral part of life.
πŸ™Heavenly Father, help us to remember that in this wicked world we will have sufferings which You will use for our good.

Are we able to thank God when troubles come

Quote for the day: “Troubles are often the tools by which God fashions us for better things.” β€” Henry Ward Beecher

Thought for the day.

“We live by faith, not by sight” (2Corinthians 5:7).

Faith is assurance, it is conviction.
πŸ™Heavenly Father, help us not to put our trust the visible things which pass away but to have faith in You who is invisible yet fully reliable.

We can not see the glory of God unless we believe.

Quote for the day: “We must shift our interest from the seen to the unseen. For the great unseen Reality is God.” β€” A.W. Tozer

Thought for the day.

“For our God is a consuming fire” (Hebrews 12:29).

God of the New Testament is the same as the Old Testament.
πŸ™Heavenly Father, help us to remember that You are a righteous God and that sin will be punished without doubt.

God hates sin because it destroys the sinner.

Quote for the day: “Above all, desire to please Christ; dread his disapproval above everything else.” β€” Rowland Croucher
